
After months of waiting and uncertainty, the guidelines on the new visiting arrangements for the Certosa di Pavia have finally arrived!
The Cistercian monks, who have animated the monastery over the past decades, will leave the complex, which will become part of the Lombard museums managed by the Regional Directorate of Museums of Lombardy.

Below you will find the information currently available regarding visiting hours and ticket purchases:
Visitors are kindly informed that from 2 January 2026 the Monumental Complex and the Museum of the Certosa of Pavia will observe the following opening hours:
from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (last admission 30 minutes before closing).
Monday: closed.
(Thursday 25 December 2025 and 1 January 2026: closed)
The admission ticket price will be €10 (except for reductions or exemptions provided by law). Tickets can be purchased on the Museitaliani platform (via app – iOS or Android – or browser) or directly on site.
On 1 January, the Monumental Complex and the Museum of the Certosa of Pavia will be closed, but it will be possible to attend Holy Mass in the New Sacristy at 9:30 am and 11:30 am.
Sunday 4 January 2026, as on all first Sundays of the month, admission to all state museums throughout the country will be free of charge.
On Monday 5 January 2026, an extraordinary opening is scheduled from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (last admission 30 minutes before closing).
