Certosa di Pavia and schools: new guided tour arrangements from 2026

The new management of the Certosa di Pavia

The new management of the Certosa di Pavia, which has changed from a monastery into a state monument, also brings new opportunities for schools.

The Cistercian monks, who have animated the monastery over the past decades, will leave the complex, which will become part of the Lombard museums managed by the Regional Directorate of Museums of Lombardy. As a result, guided tours of the Certosa will be conducted by us, licensed tourist guides.

All areas of the Certosa remain accessible: the church, the choir, the sacristy, the small cloister, the refectory, the large cloister, and the monks’ cells.

Teachers, professors, school staff and administrative offices can therefore contact me to receive further information about the guided tours I can offer, both in Italian and in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, as well as educational activities, interactive guided tours and workshops for schools of all levels.

Below you will find the information currently available regarding visiting hours and ticket purchases:

  • From Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (last entry 30 minutes before closing).
  • Monday: closed.

For schools and accompanying teachers, admission is free. Tickets can be purchased on the Museitaliani platform (via the app – iOS or Android – or via browser) or directly on site.

On the first Sunday of every month, admission to all state museums throughout the country is free.
