Urban Trekking on October 31, 2025

On the occasion of the 22nd National Urban Trekking Day, Pavia invites residents and visitors to discover the city “Sui Passi del Giubileo”, a route that brings together history, culture, and spirituality by following the paths once walked by pilgrims of yesterday and today.

The route

The Holy Doors of the three Jubilee churches of Pavia will be the guiding thread of this walk of about 4.5 km, lasting approximately 3 hours and of low difficulty, making it perfect for everyone—even for those who simply want to enjoy a stroll among art and devotion.

The itinerary starts at the Basilica of San Pietro in Ciel d’Oro, where the stories of Saint Augustine, Severinus Boethius, and Liutprand still echo, and then continues to the Pavia Cathedral, whose majestic dome dominates the heart of the city and has welcomed countless pilgrims over the centuries.

The walk concludes at the Chapel of the Resurrection at Casa del Giovane, a place of contemporary art and hospitality just a short walk from the Ticino Park. Along the way, the route will pass through streets and squares of the historic center, also including a scenic stretch along the river that has guided travelers’ footsteps for centuries.
