Via Francigena, Pavia a privileged stop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From my window, which opens onto the plain and flows toward the distant outline of the hills of Oltrep\u00f2 Pavese, I see them pass by more and more regularly: true pilgrims or \u201csimple\u201d walkers, but also cyclists traveling along the historic pilgrimage route that runs right beneath my home and for which Pavia is a privileged stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past, pilgrims doing penance and heading to Rome probably didn\u2019t take the time to visit Pavia as tourists; today, however, anyone who wishes can enjoy a break along the route right in Pavia because\u2026 it\u2019s worth it! For this reason, I have long included on the website two Via Francigena\u2013themed tours<\/a>, to discover Pavia through its places as well as its flavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Pavia is also made of flavors that pilgrims, travelers, and cyclists can enjoy with me at the end of one of our itineraries at L'Ombra de Vin \u2013 Bacaro Poetico, also associated with the Via Francigena<\/a>. Pinot, sparkling wine, Bonarda, Buttafuoco and\u2026 brasade\u2019 (traditional cookies), cured meats, gorgonzola, bread, walnuts to be\u2026 savored\u2026 just to give you an idea of our local products. Enjoying them with a view over our medieval square dominated by the dome of the Duomo is\u2026 priceless!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
