Vigevano is a pleasant surprise! When we arrive to the Piazza Ducale you immediately understand why it is considered one of the most beautiful squares in Italy! Its harmony is related to the name of the great Renaissance architect Donato Bramante who probably also designed the scaled tower of the Visconteo Castle. The castle, renovated during the Sfora dynasty, takes us back to the time of Leonardo da Vinci's stay at the dukes Ludovico il Moro and Beatrice d'Este. Today in the castle we can admire the old stables, the falconer, the ducal residence, the suggestive covered road. Inside the castle we can complete the guided tour with the unique International Shoe Museum which is in Vigevano because the city has long been one of the most important for the production of quality shoes (entrance to the Museum to be paid).
